“Foodservice Rewards is What the Name Says”

Chef Nick Mueller & Company enthuses about the points he earns buying Hormel and Bunge foodservice products…

“Foodservice Rewards is what the name says – a reward for foodservice. I just redeemed points for the first time and was truly impressed with the quality of the item. Ray Smith and Noah Hanson were exceptionally helpful and very proactive and customer service oriented.

The quality of the brands that participate are top notch too! Bunge Canola Oil and Hormel 18/22 Low Sodium Bacon are two excellent products that we use. Our customers enjoy the quality and we get return business and in addition an easily redeemable Reward Code which quickly adds up to a nice bonus reward!”

What’s your most embarrassing moment at work?

When I started working in the US there was a “pennies” tray In my client’s cafeteria. I thought people were insulting the cashier by giving her pennies as tips and I dropped in $1. No one said anything to me that day…

The next day I came back to the same cashier who explained that it was for pennies to help her make change, not for tips. She further told me she had deposited the previous day’s dollar into a charity box – it was an embarrassing – and at the same time, funniest moment in my life.

Well, only my wife after getting married with her. In earlier days in India (especially south India and Chennai), it was not that easy to get a chance :(

I wanted be a Doctor when I grew up.

Elvis Has Left The Building

It’s “bye-bye and good riddance” to Peter Crowe, who will miss terribly as he moves on to Bidvest…

Peter Crowe moves to BidvestAnd boy, I’m going to miss him. Peter Crowe has been instrumental in getting the foundation suite of sponsors together for the launch Foodservice Rewards.com.au – however, as a native Queenslander one can’t fault him for wanting to move back to the territory where his extended family lives.

I’m sure some will tease him about having gone to the “dark side” when they learn that he’s going to be the new Manager of Marketing and Purchasing at Bidvest (I’m among them), but it’s a super opportunity that would be a shame to pass up.

It’ll take three people to fill his mighty shoes, which is why we’ve invited Jody Dubuque from our Chicago office (and owner of the US relationships with Kraft, Sara Lee and Unilever) to spend six months Down Under while we hire and train an additional Coalition Manager. Also supporting Jody in Sydney will be Ron Marfori, Technical Project Manager from our operations group in Minneapolis.

My Cleveland Gun Metal Sand Wedge. Being a bad golfer forces me to be good “around” the greens.

What’s your most embarrassing moment at work?

While on a phone with a client, I tried to say “You’re Welcome” and “No problem” at the same time and it came out “You’re Problem”!

What’s the best/worst thing about working on Foodservice Rewards?

Overhearing Ray’s customer service phone calls all day long.
